Kate Thomas

About me…

Hi! I’m Kate Thomas, a compassionate, certified coach supporting clients to transform their mindsets and harness self-leadership.

I believe that our culture today doesn’t provide enough support for us to thrive in our modern world - from the workplace to our home lives. So everything I do is to help you to feel supported, decode your own inner world, thrive through transitions and reach your deepest desired goals.

I recently moved back to Los Angeles after nearly a decade living in France. I actually brought my whole family home, my French husband and our two daughters. As an expat formerly working internationally, both in-house and in my own company, I know a thing or two about big life transitions. As a mom, I know about the juggle of home life and work life. As a multi-passionate dreamer, I know a lot about the triumph of finally bringing dreams to life and the pain of not. As a survivor, I know about recovering from trauma. And I bring all of that lived experience to my coaching.

I am here to inspire and empower you to make the changes in your life that you so desire. We all deserve a space to be heard, a guide to help us unlock our fullest potential, and the support to navigate life’s transitions with more ease.

Coaching isn’t about fixing what’s broken—it’s about boldly and compassionately stepping into your next act, written and designed intentionally by you.

More about me. Let’s go deeper…

When people ask, what inspired me to start my coaching practice, the answer might strike you as quite candid.

The real, deep reason I became a coach was because of loneliness - but probably not in the way you think.

Prior to coaching, for over a decade, I worked in entertainment and media production, from films and TV, to youtube, to content marketing in the travel industry and digital marketing in the online education space. I appeared in front of the camera and worked in nearly every role behind the camera. I worked in Los Angeles, New York, Paris and destinations around the world.

Today, I am also a wife and mom of two - living between France and California. I am currently located fulltime in Los Angeles.

Despite the sparkle of my international career there were a lot of things going on in my private life - specifically in my own head that were working against my wellbeing. I’m going to share with you some deep stuff, but I promise, it will make sense in the end.

For years, I struggled with anxiety - gut wrenching anxiety, the kind that kept me up at night, kept me in a state of paralysis and pain.  And then later I struggled with PTSD following a traumatic event I witnessed, a public shooting where people were wounded and killed.

This event tremendously impacted me, and it required that I embarked on a journey of healing to regain my freedom, my joy, and agency over my life.

When I was going through the thick of it, I had no idea where to turn or how to make sense of what was going on inside of myself. Even with a supportive family, close friends and a partner in my life, I felt on my own to weed through my inner struggles.

So, I patched together my own road to recovery and reinvention.  I did therapy, saw coaches, took courses, went on retreats, and read up on many different modalities and practices for healing. Along the way, I've learned so many powerful, life-changing perspectives and practices that transformed my inner and outer worlds.

Coaching, EMDR therapy, and learning the skills of Mindful Self-Compassion and nervous system regulation inspired by The Polyvagal Theory in particular helped me break through my own personal barriers so I could be the author of a life I truly desire. Today, I have experienced Post-Traumatic-Growth and am able to live boldly and courageously - pursuing my dreams.

And I feel deeply called to work as a coach, supporting others to achieve their own transformations living life with more ease, courage and connection. I cherish every opportunity to be a coach, supporting my clients to achieve their deepest desires and to enjoy their one precious life. This is my sole’s work.

With me as your coach, we go inward first, we demystify and dismantle what’s holding you back, we create a clear vision for what comes next and you move forward in alignment and with more ease.
